MUSIC PROGRAMMING
MPL hosted drum workshops, ukulele lessons, 30 Days of Opera performances, and more! 5 Fridays of Jazz, our partnership with Overton Park Shell, continued to be a popular draw with 1,187 attendees over all 5 nights!

28 Program; 2,372 Attendees

5 Fridays of Jazz saw an 8% increase in attendance over 2019!

HEALTH AND COOKING PROGRAMS
In March-May, we hosted 66 programs promoting health and wellness and providing activities to learn more about cooking and food. The Eat This Book Festival alone, held at our new Raleigh Branch Library, had over 150 attendees!

“I have enjoyed every bit of this class. Janice introduced me to food and recipes I never would have tried. I loved every recipe and socializing with everyone each week. I am going to miss our classes, but am excited we will do another session soon!” – Princess J., attendee at Cordova Library’s Health Choices, Health Lifestyles program.

924 total attendees (71.3% Health/Wellness; 28.7% Cooking/Food)

901 PERSONAL FINANCE
April is Financial Literacy Month, and the Library hosted 901 Personal Finance, with sessions on extreme couponing, home buying seminars, person finance for seniors, and more!

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY SPRING BOOK SALE
The Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale raised $21,000 for the Library! A 91% increase over 2019!

SPRING OUTREACH
MPL’s Outreach programs offered a variety of activities, including seed swaps, Earth Day crafts, and other events celebrating the arrival of Spring!

Total March – May Outreach attendees: 6907 (1,000 Adults; 5907 Children/Teens)
This is a 687% increase over 2021.

BOOKSTOCK
BookStock, Memphis Area Authors’ Festival, returned in-person for the first time since 2019! 1,500 people joined us in celebrating local authors, with author exhibits, cultural dance performances, choirs, live music, food trucks, book giveaways, and more!
