This interactive program offers the opportunity to explore podcast creation from start to finish. Through hands-on workshops and expert guidance, participants will learn essential skills such as storytelling, audio recording, editing , and podcast distribution.

The Orange Mound Branch will host a Digitization Day Pop-Up on July 20 from 11am-4pm! Staff will be on hand to help scan and preserve your old photographs, VHS tapes, and other materials, including the option to donate your material to DIG Memphis – the library’s digital archive!

With a plethora of genres, characters, and ways of telling stories there's surely a series out there for everyone to enjoy! Come out July 20 to the Orange Mound Library branch (and every third Saturday) for a session discussion and activities as we nerd out to our favorite shows and reads at the Otaku Oasis!
July's selection for this popular program is Dune (the second half) by Frank Herbert. And don't miss a screening of Dune: Part Two (2024) on July 27 at Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library!

EXPLORE MEMPHIS

Read, attend, explore! Through July 31, kids and adults have the opportunity to Explore Memphis through reading.  A Children's Reading Log comes with a map to color for every 100 minutes of reading. Teens and adults set their own goals. Bring your logs back when you meet your goals to find out if you win any prizes!

Jerrika will read "Ruby Finds A Worry" and will help parents and kids understand the importance of talking about their worries and how sharing them with others can help make them feel smaller and more manageable.

Lions, tigers, bears... and books! Connect Crew will host a family storytime and animal meet and greet program starting Tuesday, June 4 at the Wild Encounter location. 
The event will take place during the zoo's Free TN Tuesday hours.

With Underground Art's help, this year's Library Love is Permanent event will be bigger and better. Get a tattoo at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library on Monday, July 22, from 12-8 p.m., first-come, first-served, for $100. Enjoy henna, face painting, live music, food trucks, and an open mic for sharing tattoo stories.
